The cement quality CEM I 42,5 R is a pure Portland cement of the strength class 42,5 R according to EN 197-1.
The CEM I 42,5 R of Cimalux has the additional denomination "PM" (Prise Mer) according to the french standard NF P 15-317, whis means that it can be used in maritime or similar works.
It consists of clinker and a mixture of anhydrite,gypsum and semi-hydrate as a retarder.
Main characteristics
The quality CEM I 42,5 R is ground to a moderate fineness. Therefore one can manufacture with this quality concretes which have not a too rapid settimg time, but which harden rather quickly.
The heat development is high, especially during the first day.
Fields of application
The cement quality CEM I 42,5 R is mainly used in the maufacture of precast concrete products and in high quality concrete, especially in winter time.
